Microbiology

Microbiology is the study of microorganisms such as Archea, bacteria, viruses, prions, fungi, algae, and protozoans. Microbes and their associated functions are critically essential to every process of nature, including biogeochemical cycles, biodegradation, climate variability, and food contamination. Additionally, the development of genetically engineered microbes improves human welfare significantly. Microbial exploration is thriving as a result of technical breakthroughs that have opened up new areas of research, particularly in genomics concerning microbial ecology and evolutionary relationships. Because of microorganisms’ broad adaptability, research is increasingly focusing on the development of life-saving medicines, production of biofuels, bioremediation, and the production/processing of foods and beverages.
